In September of 1999, Wellness Counseling Center Founder Miriam Barkley entered addiction treatment for the last time. Shortly after completing treatment, she enrolled in nursing school, where her passion for helping others led Miriam to graduating at the top of her class.
After losing her son to addiction and suicide, Miriam was compelled to develop a sober living house, which has grown into the Wellness Counseling Center. Our addiction treatment center has now helped dozens of people reclaim their sobriety and start living successful, independent lives.
With the right staff and fundamentals, Wellness Counseling Center is a program ABOVE the rest!– Chris L.
As proud as we are of our addiction treatment facility, we are even more proud of the people that make it. Our therapists are the very best Florida has to offer, and we are honored to have them on our team. The open floorplan of the center allows them to remain easily accessible to you and fully devote themselves to your recovery. They build strong bonds with every one of our clients and foster lifelong friendships. You aren’t just a client, you’re family, and our facility works to accentuate that important aspect of your care.
We aim to restore the dignity of those suffering from chronic addiction relapse by removing the enabling behaviors that condone destructive actions and providing love and guidance to end addiction, save lives and repair families.
We believe that addiction is a disease that affects the entire family and that it should be healed throughout the entire entity, not just through one person.
We believe that exhibiting tough love toward clients creates a family-like bond that will prove to be a strong support system through the trials of their recovery and beyond.
We believe that treatment for addiction should be personal and tailored to each person based on a thorough evaluation.
